Over the past nine years, the Bayview branch office has served over 10,000 of the Bayview’s Asian, African American, and Latinx youth, families, and residents. In efforts to reach out to as many community members as possible, CYC established a service center where community members come to receive English, Spanish and Chinese classes and training on seismic safety and preparation, first aid and CPR, computer tablet classes, and educational workshops from other service providers. CYC partners with Bayview community-based organizations to continue to promote multicultural harmony via celebrations which include Black History Month/Lunar New Year Celebration, Latinx Heritage Month/Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, and an annual Turkey Giveaway. Lastly, CYC’s Bayview Youth Advocates leadership program provides a space for young people who live in Bayview to work together to advocate for non-violence and positive change to impact their community and San Francisco.
