For the past nine years, the Bayview YMCA has provided services, staffing, and programming to the Martin Luther King school community. In 2018, MLK Beacon became an official Beacon Center as part of a citywide expansion of Beacon Centers at school sites across San Francisco.
Beacon Centers strengthen the connection between schools, students, and families while offering resources and programming to meet the needs of the larger surrounding community. MLK Beacon programs are focused on youth development, academic interventions to close the achievement gap, and family partnerships. We are proud to provide students with safe and supportive year-round out of school time opportunities.
