The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition works to transform San Francisco’s streets and neighborhoods into safe, just, and livable places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. The Community Bike Build program takes reclaimed bikes and partners with community based organizations to identify low income or transportation dependent recipients for them. Community members can learn the basics of bicycle repair every Wednesday at Community Repair Night where the reclaimed bicycles are refurbished, or bring in their own bicycles for help with maintenance. We also offer free bicycle education classes (which are often held in the Bayview) for youth and adults on everything from learning to ride a bike for the first time, to riding in the rain and at night.
