Strengthening Families Project (SFP) is a 14-week program serving parent/teens (12-16 yrs old). Program is one day a week / for 2 hours / includes a home cook meal. The program is designed to coach families in a safe healthy environment. Using a collaborative learning process, we teach parents and teens how to communicate better, and we emphasize cultural differences among the different generations. A family meal is prepared and used as a venue to eat dinner together and have meaningful conversations. Separate skill building groups are facilitated for the adults and teens. At the end of the session, the families are joined together to share what they learned. We also offer field trips for SFP families to use as a bonding experience, (Disney on Ice, Baseball Games, Stage Plays, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Basketball Games, Movies and other family outings). When Families complete the program
and throughout the program incentives are given (gift cards, stipends, care packages etc.).
