The EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park is a space for environmental education, youth internships, community organizing, and connecting people with the beauty of San Francisco’s wild landscapes. The project was a community-designed initiative, having integrated the voices of hundreds of community members over the course of a decade of planning. It has become a model for green building, sustainable resource use, environmental justice, and experiential learning. The EcoCenter Advisory Committee provides program and community engagement strategies and advice to the EcoCenter team on behalf of the Southeast San Francisco community. Members of the Advisory Committee represent the diversity of organizations within Southeast San Francisco – drawing from education, community, government, environmental, and corporate sectors. If you are interested in becoming an EcoCenter ambassador, please join us for the next EcoCenter Advisory Committee meeting to explore the EcoCenter and learn more about our programs, meet our Advisory Committee members, find out how the committee works, ask questions, and submit a letter of interest. Letters of interest are due by June 2, 2017.
To learn more about becoming an ambassador or to submit a letter of interest, please contact EcoCenter Manager Susie Wasserstrom at firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-839-4963. When submitting a letter of interest, please answer the following: Why are you interested in becoming an EcoCenter Advisory Committee member? Explain your relation to the Bayview Hunters Point community (professional, residential, or other)? Which audiences do you work with? If asked to join the committee, what will you add to the EcoCenter Advisory Committee?
